Service and Repair

Vanco Computing can service or repair your computer at your home or business. That means we'll come to you with the parts and tools to make a quick and efficient repair. Repairs can even be made remotely with optional free software for the home user, or with PCAnywhere or Windows XP Remote Assistance for additional security for businesses.
  • Business service contracts
  • Implement backup solutions including Ghost imaging, RAID hard drive backups and stand-alone or library tape systems
  • Repair any Windows® operating system
  • Data recovery solutions for individual drives or for RAID systems. At this time only hard drives that can still spin and read data can be recovered. Vanco Computing can help you determine what your specific situation requires.

  • Securely shredding (the unrecoverable deletion of) sensitive data from your hard drive before disposal. When you delete information or even format the hard drive, it is not removed, and can still be accessed with the right tools. A muliple-pass shredding process will gurantee that data cannot be recovered. A certificate of secure data disposal will be issued once the job is complete.

  • Upgrade any part of your computer, including a faster processor, more memory, or a larger hard drive

  • Install virus, trojan horse, worm and spyware protection software

  • Remote repair available with PCAnywhere or optional free software

Contractual support is available for any problems you encounter, reducing the hassle for the business and without the need to worry about excessive service costs.

Call to have problems resolved over the telephone, e-mail a question, or have your computer or network fixed over the internet.

Remote repair requires the RealVNC free software or the built-in Remote Assistace for Windows XP. Click here to download RealVNC, and follow these intallation instructions.

If your computer is behind a router, you cannot use VNC, but the following methods will work in its place. Click here to download and install the latest version of MSN Messenger to more easily facilitate a connection through Remote Assistance. Remote Assistance my also be initiated by using your e-mail.

If you are behind a router, you can start a Remote Assistance by using the Remote Assistance icon in your start menu under All Programs. Remote Assistance is only available in Windows XP. Microsoft's instructions for this feature can be found Rates:

  • 1 hour minimum charge for on-site work.
  • Telephone and remote support available at a reduced rate.
  • Hourly service contracts will receive a slight discount on the normal hourly rate. Contracts based upon the number of computers are charged at a fixed price per computer per month.
